Desarrolla Obras y Servicios has just completed a spectacular rustic home of more than 700 square meters on the outskirts of A Coruña. A residence that is, in fact, pure cutting-edge construction thanks to the combination of contemporary design elements with those of traditional architecture.The exquisite control of volumes and the interplay of materials give the house a strong, distinctive character. Particularly striking is the commitment to iconic elements of traditional Galician architecture. A residential concept in which the architecture studio SAestudio and the renowned interior design studio Alejandra Pombo have taken part.
Imposing wooden beams, natural stone on both the façade and the interior, and rustic furnishings punctuate a luxury villa that, in contrast, features cutting-edge construction elements. A blend of past and present that flows seamlessly.The brief for the home reflects the scale of the project. Two bedrooms with walk-in closets and en-suite bathrooms, six additional rooms with their own bathrooms, guest toilets, gym, living-dining room, kitchen with pantry and laundry, plant room, swimming pool, spacious garage…More than 700 square meters of built area on a plot of almost 8,000 square meters.
OPTIMIZATION OF SPACES
The project carried out by Desarrolla Obras y Servicios focused on reducing circulation areas, thus avoiding the creation of residual spaces such as corridors and enhancing key aspects like functionality and aesthetics.The casa rústica consists of a ground floor above grade and a first floor. The daytime area is located on the ground floor, with generous terraces and a swimming pool, while the north façade houses the night-time area.In each of these spaces, exemplary interior design work has been carried out by Alejandra Pombo’s studio, whose projects seek to create pleasant, functional, and comfortable environments, with a unique personality and style.A project distilled around a single idea: creating a powerful identity that fuses tradition and avant-garde. Spectacular doors and rustic furniture coexist with elegant wallcoverings and contemporary pieces that amplify the strength of the architectural narrative.A language in which the commitment to light plays a distinctive role.
