DESARROLLA COMPLETES THE CONSTRUCTION IN SITGES OF A SPECTACULAR VILLA DESIGNED AROUND A SINGLE ARCHITECTURAL VOLUME WITH A COMPREHENSIVE PROGRAM OF SPACES TO MEET EVERY NEED
In architecture, coherence is everything. It’s the quality that gives every project its true meaning. In the Catalan town of Sitges, the Desarrolla Obras y Servicios teams have just completed the construction of a spectacular villa that stands as a magnificent example of this way of being and of belonging. Of that journey that turns consistency and identity into a defining hallmark of the project.
The single-family home designed by the team at Rardo Architects is conceived around a single architectural volume laid out across three levels: basement, ground floor, and first floor. Each one is part of a striking aesthetic journey, with a comprehensive program that leaves nothing out.
The ground floor, which provides access to the house, accommodates the shared areas: living room, kitchen-dining room, guest toilet, laundry room, terraces… In the opposite wing, three bedrooms have been built, each one equipped with its own bathroom.
On the upper floor there is an impressive suite-style bedroom with en-suite bathroom and walk-in closet, as well as a solarium terrace that makes the most of the surrounding gardens. A dedicated workspace has also been created in the circulation area.
AN ARCHITECTURAL VOLUME WITH EXEMPLARY USE OF SPACE
Finally, the third of the floors within the architectural volume, the basement level, has been dedicated to the home’s auxiliary uses. A fully equipped games room, storage area, plant room…
The project also features two key elements that enhance the building’s presence. On the one hand, a striking staircase that serves as a connecting axis between the different floors of the architectural volume. On the other, the large exposed-concrete overhangs that provide shelter and allow sunlight to enter, while blocking the intense heat so characteristic of this Catalan town at certain times of the year.
The crowning feature of this spectacular villa is its outdoor areas. A feast for the senses: swimming pool, a garden with tropical influences, expansive outdoor terraces…
