A Coruña's Estrella street, one of the city's most vibrant gastronomic hubs, has just witnessed the birth of a new venue that preserves the everlasting flavor and essence, yet from a very different dimension. The new A Mundiña establishment is an ambitious project in both form and content, brought to life by the teams at Desarrolla Obras y Servicios.

With over 400 square meters spread across the ground floor and basement, the project designed by Santomé Estudio Creativo has successfully doubled the restaurant's capacity to 120 diners, more than twice that of its predecessor.The new establishment —located at number 15 on the same street that has seen it grow for nearly two decades— effectively meets a comprehensive set of needs: expanding capacity, optimizing internal operations, and maintaining the identity that has made A Mundiña a local icon. A Mundiña, a renovation with essence

The project involved a complete interior renovation of the premises, updating all functional and aesthetic elements required for its new use. The intervention focused on a strategic redistribution of space, particularly in the ground floor bathroom area, as well as a total renewal of finishes, flooring, interior carpentry, and facilities.The expansion has successfully revitalized and updated A Mundiña's aesthetic and functional proposition, reimagining the spaces while preserving their structural essence. Thus, the contemporary, warm, and functional atmosphere that has defined the brand's value proposition for years has been maintained.

Materials, Finishes, and Comfort: Excellence as the Standard

Regarding the finishes, porcelain flooring has been used on the ground floor, ideal for its durability and elegance, while the basement has been lined with seamless microcement, providing unity and longevity. The vertical surfaces have been treated with a meticulous combination of wood paneling, smooth plastic paint, and ceramic tiling, reinforcing the welcoming and sophisticated character of the space.The selection of interior carpentry in chipboard with a natural wood finish, smooth doors, and oversized trims is based on both aesthetic and functional criteria, aligning with the brand image of the tavern. The Desarrolla teams have also completely renovated the electrical, plumbing, and HVAC installations, ensuring energy efficiency, healthiness, and proper waste management.

More space, more possibilities

A Mundiña's new proposal can accommodate 120 diners, nearly twice as many as its predecessor, including a separate dining room for 50 people on the ground floor.
