BBVA HEADQUARTERS
THE WORK CARRIED OUT IN THE OFFICES OF BBVA’S MAIN HEADQUARTERS IN GALICIA, LOCATED ON CANTÓN PEQUEÑO IN A CORUÑA
We have completed the work carried out at the offices of the central headquarters of BBVA in Galicia, located on Cantón Pequeño in A Coruña. Thanks to this refurbishment, we have brought to life the entity’s new “Blue Branch” concept, enabling a much more direct relationship with clients and enhancing their access to new technologies.
Technical expertise and sensitivity
The renovated branch has a floor area of over 1,200m2, with access from two of the most central and busiest streets in this Galician city. As a result of merging two premises, we carried out the works in two phases so that clients would not be affected and could continue to enjoy all the institution’s services throughout the construction period.The project, designed by Cotecno Ingeniería y Arquitectura, includes aesthetic, structural, and functional enhancements. On the outside, the standout feature is the façade opening onto Cantón Pequeño, a reflection of the city’s classically inspired banking architecture. Given its architectural value, the original wrought-iron doors have been restored and the aluminium windows replaced with lacquered wooden ones, matching the upper levels. We have also removed the advertising sign, allowing the architecture of the entire ensemble to take centre stage.
BLUE BRANCH
Inside, the original white marble flooring has been preserved in the customer service areas, while in the meeting rooms and workspaces we have installed wood-effect porcelain tiles and carpet. The space reflects the “Blue Branch” concept thanks to the fluidity of circulation, the use of glass, and light tones. This sense of transparency and spaciousness is further enhanced by the main feature of the premises: the skylight of more than 100 m2 located at the center.As a result of the complete refurbishment of the roof, the skylight allows natural light to enter every area of the premises. In addition, it incorporates insulating panels and acoustic slats that improve acoustic comfort and help to filter the light.
