REDESIGNING THE FUTURE: RENOVATION OF A CENTRAL APARTMENT IN A CORUÑA
The past always returns. In our world—the world of construction and architecture—it often comes back enhanced, reimagined as an example of aesthetics and refined taste, of contemporaneity. A way of doing things that has just found its natural place in the renovation of a centrally located apartment in A Coruña.
The property’s new identity is the result of a comprehensive renovation that has journeyed into the past to create an entirely new present. The herringbone floors, combined in some areas with marble, the striking presence of the moldings, and the interplay of materials and tones give the residence an aesthetic that blends classicism with cutting-edge design.An original exercise, given that the apartment, built in the mid-20th century, originally presented a more conventional appearance—less appealing from a visual standpoint.
A DREAM IN THE HEART OF LA CORUÑA’S MOST EXCLUSIVE SIDE
To reach this point, it was necessary to carry out a full renovation. The original building had to be completely demolished to give shape to a thoroughly updated property. Starting from a similar layout, the Desarrolla Obras y Servicios teams renewed all the systems and utilities serving the home.Plumbing, drainage, sanitary ware, ventilation, heating, electricity, lighting, telecommunications… An entirely new framework to map out a new future.Perhaps it is in the visual realm where the transformation is most striking. The project has played with the generous use of mouldings, wallcoverings, flooring, bespoke wardrobes and decorative panels to create an atmosphere that is as warm as it is surprising.An aesthetic that accompanies visitors from the very first moment.The installation of a transparent glass lattice and swing and sliding doors also creates a layout that, while respecting the original design, takes it to another level.In the renovation of a centrally located apartment in A Coruña, the interior design work by Estudio Sueiro stands out in a very special way.
