AMICALIA INVERSIONES IS THE DEVELOPER BEHIND THE PROJECT, WHICH BRINGS TOGETHER 25 GASTRONOMIC CONCEPTS IN AN IMPRESSIVE 3,000-SQUARE-METER SPACE LOCATED IN THE SANTIAGO BERNABÉU

Desarrolla Obras y Servicios has completed the construction of the new Bernabeu Market, the spectacular gastronomic market located inside the Santiago Bernabeu. A total of 25 culinary concepts are spread across 3,000 square meters of space located beneath the Tribuna stand of the refurbished Real Madrid stadium. The project, promoted by Amicalia Inversiones in collaboration with Real Madrid and designed by the interior design teams of Burr Studio and Studio Animal, recreates the atmosphere of one of the many gastronomic neighborhoods that can be found in Spain’s capital.
The experience of Desarrolla in the world of high-end restaurant and hospitality projects has been a guarantee for the execution of a development destined to become one of the main attractions of the new and dazzling Santiago Bernabeu. When Real Madrid launched this idea as part of the impressive renovation of the Santiago Bernabeu, the club was clear about what would be the strategic pillar of the project: consolidating the stadium as a top-tier tourist and sporting attraction in Madrid. One figure illustrates this: the Santiago Bernabeu receives 12 million visitors every year, and the club estimates that this number will reach 18 million with the new stadium, a flow that in itself already justifies the creation of this first-class gastronomic offering. The teams at Desarrolla Obras y Servicios have built a spectacular space that brings together both national and international cuisine, with an aesthetic and layout inspired by the very essence of today’s most fashionable Madrid.

The creators of the project, in fact, maintain that the interior architecture of Bernabeu Market evokes an urban setting. “A dense neighborhood, where the streets break and bend, opening up fragmented views of the different volumes that define the space. In terms of references, it draws on dense urban environments like those found in certain areas of Tokyo or Hong Kong. Formally, the stalls are composed of stone-like counters that rise from the floor and support metallic lattice structures.”To create different atmospheres and amplify the powerful image with which the market is conceived, a chromatic gradient has been designed that runs through every corner of the Bernabeu Market, thereby enhancing visitors’ perception that each of its corners is unique, even though its elements are structurally similar. As for its operation, the Bernabeu Market will remain open all year round for visitors coming to the stadium and its surroundings. With one particular feature: on match days, part of the market will be closed to serve Real Madrid’s guests, while the other part will continue to offer its culinary and leisure experiences as usual to all visitors who wish to enjoy them.Ultimately, this is a project whose execution has been especially exciting for us, and we would like to take this opportunity to thank the developers for the trust they have placed in our work.
