The Challenge of the Interior Structure

One of the critical aspects of the project has been the renovation of the interior structure. Although the stone load-bearing walls appeared to be in good condition, the original horizontal framework, consisting of wooden beams and planks, turned out to be of low quality.Therefore, it was completely demolished and replaced with a modern system of steel beams and joists. This action not only ensures long-term structural stability, but also represents a fundamental step in this comprehensive rehabilitation in Lugo to ensure durability and safety.The severely deteriorated roof has also been completely replaced, adjusting its slope to the permitted 30° according to urban regulations, which improves both water drainage and the building's energy performanceedification.

Comprehensive Rehabilitation in Lugo: The Historical Value

Similarly, the listed architectural elements of the main facade, such as galleries, bay windows, and original woodwork, have been preserved, replacing only those pieces that could not be restored. In the rear, new galleries and windows with PVC joinery and double insulating glass were incorporated, all within the framework of a comprehensive rehabilitation in Lugo that blends tradition and innovation.Another highlight has been the integration of an elevator and a new staircase, all without affecting the ground floor structure or compromising the existing foundation. This was made possible thanks to a functional design that maximized the available space, including solutions such as a small pit and a ramp at the entrance.Regarding new uses, the first floor has been redistributed to accommodate a residence and two offices, while the upper floors and attic have restored the pre-existing residential use.
