Murmurs of the River, the arboreal allegory crafted into a signature kitchen
A restaurant that is a tree. A kind of shade to take shelter under and enjoy. Marmurio do Río, the new venue we have just built in Allariz, is that and much more. The project led by chef Luis Moreno is an exercise in sensitivity and originality. It's about a passion for a vision of gastronomy that turns everything, the container and the content, into a way of being and living.
The team at Desarrolla Obras y Servicios en Ourense has recently completed the unique project designed by Seara-Peleteiro, a reflection of the philosophy of the renowned chef.
Moreno wanted the visitor's experience at Marmurio do Río to begin upon crossing the threshold of the door. To achieve this, the architects crafted an allegory in which each floor or element of the restaurant evokes parts of a tree.
Thus, the main hall, for example, reflects the birth of the tree. They are its roots, which traverse the reception area, softened by a deliberately dimmed and warm light. There, the murmur of water from the various fountains located on the ground floor cradles the visitor. It envelops them in an atmosphere as surprising as it is evocative.
The main staircase of the Marmurio do Río would be the stem. It leads you to the impressive main dining room, metaphorically situated beneath the tree's branches.
