
RESTORATION AND MAINTENANCE OF THE WROUGHT-IRON RAILINGS ON THE MAIN FAÇADE OF PAZO DE RAXOI, HEADQUARTERS OF THE SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA CITY COUNCIL, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROJECT DRAFTED BY THE TECHNICAL OFFICE OF THE CONSORCIO DE SANTIAGO


The existing paint and rust on the railings are removed, and the half-round handrails and the damaged ornamental elements on the central and left side sections of this façade are replaced.The restoration of the first-floor railings has been carried out in situ, while in the case of the balcony railings on the upper floors, they have been dismantled for subsequent repair in the workshop.
Another part of the work involved repairing various stonework elements that had deteriorated over time. To achieve this, the damaged pieces were replaced with others of similar characteristics.Likewise, on the ground floor, it was necessary to replace a series of support plates due to their advanced deterioration.Finally, the original polychromy of various wrought-iron pieces and ornaments has also been restored.
