THE PROJECT RESTORES AN 18TH-CENTURY HISTORIC BUILDING, TRANSFORMING IT INTO THE HOTEL VIA AETCAL & WELLNESS WHILE PRESERVING ITS ORIGINAL ARCHITECTURAL VALUE
Comprehensive restoration of an iconic 18th-century building for Hotel Via Aetcal & Wellness, located in the historic center of Santiago de Compostela, based on the project designed by architects Alexandre Marcos Rodríguez, Roberto García Rey, and Juan Sebastián Lareo.The rehabilitation of this property, with a total area of 600 m2, has been carried out while preserving each of the listed architectural elements, including the restoration of the entrance door, the balustrade, and the coat of arms on the façade, all of which are protected features.
The three-star hotel features 12 rooms, a reception area, a lounge, and a wellness zone with spa, contrast shower, steam bath, and a relaxation area for massages.The floor slabs have been built in timber with exposed struts or as composite slabs with exposed steel beams. Particularly noteworthy is the restoration of the exposed stone in the walls and other distinctive elements.The staircase structure combines metal, wood, and glass, in keeping with the lift, which is also built with a metal structure and glass enclosure.
