GRAN HOTEL LUGO OPENS ITS DOORS
DESARROLLA COMPLETES THE CONSTRUCTION WORKS OF THE ICONIC HOTEL IN THE ROMAN CITY
Desarrolla has carried out the comprehensive refurbishment of the Gran Hotel Lugo, a four-star establishment located on Avenida Ramón Ferreiro, very close to the city’s historic center. This landmark hotel already boasts a forty-year tradition in the city, but until now, the café and main dining room had remained closed.The project was completed in three and a half months, covering an area of 2,000 m2 in which a full renovation of the common areas was undertaken. These spaces have undergone an in-depth transformation to give the hotel a more contemporary, cutting-edge aesthetic and to upgrade its infrastructure, both in terms of facilities and service delivery.
Comprehensive renovation
The work carried out by Desarrolla includes the full refurbishment of the entrance hall, the lobby, the café, the main dining room, the mezzanine function rooms, and the Planta Porticada lounge.The project, focused exclusively on interior design, has involved replacing the flooring with top‑quality ceramic finishes (Porcelanosa, Saloni and Vivies) and stone surfaces (rosa Porriño granite and negro Baobab), updating wall coverings, applying vinyl wallcovering on selected walls (Casamance), and installing new suspended ceilings and plasterboard partitions. All timber joinery has also been renewed, the ‘jotum’ wall paint refreshed, and new sanitaryware from Geberit, Roca and Hansgrohe installed.
