EXTENSION AND RENOVATION OF TWO SINGLE-FAMILY HOMES LOCATED IN REDES, EXECUTED WITH STONE ELEMENTS ON THE FAÇADE, EXTERNAL WOODEN CARPENTRY AND A TILE ROOF, ALLOWING TRADITIONAL ARCHITECTURE TO BE BLENDED INTO A CONTEMPORARY FAÇADE DESIGN

Inside, the structure, carpentry, and floor slabs are executed in wood, while the rear façade features landscaped areas planted with a variety of native botanical species. The result: two seafront homes that embody the typical typology of a fishing village, a traditional architecture masterfully reinterpreted by Díaz y Díaz Arquitectos.
The Juana de Vega Foundation has awarded a special mention to this project by Díaz & Díaz Arquitectos, executed by Desarrolla. The home, located in the town of Redes, received the distinction for its modern, understated design, which fully draws the surrounding landscape into the interior of the building through large glazed spaces. The views flow through rooms and staircases, allowing the scenery to be admired even from the rear garden, across the entire building.
