THE SINGLE-FAMILY HOME WE HAVE BUILT IS DEFINED BY VOLUMES AND SHARP RIGHT ANGLES, CREATING DYNAMIC PLAYS OF LIGHT AND SHADOW THAT SHIFT THROUGHOUT THE DAY

The project, by Aestudio Arquitectura, features as its most distinctive and defining element the concrete pergola which, acting as an entrance porch, is supported by a single pillar on one of its fronts, creating a sense of suspension.
The 260m2 of interior floor area are arranged over two storeys, each with two levels, which brings significant spatial and compositional value to the rooms. The interior floor finishes, which evoke the warmth of wood, are ceramic. On the upper floor, the vertical circulation is resolved with staircases featuring cantilevered solid Iroko wood treads, a material that is also used for the balustrade of the first flight of stairs and for the entrance door.

The exterior development, which we have also carried out, combines a variety of materials. The access ramp to the garage and the entrance area are designed in stamped concrete that recreates slate slabs, while the porches and exterior staircases are finished in large-format porcelain stoneware and natural granite, respectively.
