THE BUILDING WAS REFURBISHED BY RESTORING ITS TIMBER GALLERIES AND ENHANCING ITS ORIGINAL AESTHETICS. THE INTERVENTION ALSO IMPROVED ITS ENERGY PERFORMANCE BY REDUCING HEAT LOSS

The refurbished property presented deterioration in some of the wooden elements of its classic façade galleries, which has been resolved through their restoration. In addition, the aesthetic features for which thiscentral and distinctive building in A Coruña is listed have been enhanced.
Not only was the splendor of the façade restored, the rehabilitation also made it possible to return the roof to its original state, when it featured a zinc finish. Over the years, this roof went through several phases: for a time it was made of fiber cement, and in the 1990s ceramic tiles were installed on top of it.The project has also made it possible to achieve an energy upgrade for the building – aimed at reducing heat loss – and to remove the asbestos contained in the old fiber‑cement roof.
