A Galician restaurant and an impressive rooftop terrace overlooking the heart of Madrid, where you can enjoy a brunch, an aperitif with friends, or a drink in the afternoon or evening. Desarrolla Obras y Servicios has just brought to life Le Tavernier’s latest dream. A spectacular project on the ninth and tenth floors of Gran Vía 34, in Madrid, the same building where Zara is located. The new hospitality venue, inaugurated just a few days ago, features a Galician restaurant on the ninth floor and a snack and tapas area on the rooftop. Its striking design is set to make it one of the most eye‑catching in Madrid.Desarrolla has overseen the execution of a landmark project created by A Coruña‑based interior designer Iván Cotado. More than 900 square metres that combine dreamlike interiors with an attractive use of outdoor spaces. In addition to the rooftop terrace, the penultimate floor also features two large terraces. “It is a very ambitious project,” explains Cotado, “and we needed to be one hundred percent focused on it.”The aesthetic will be similar to that of the venue that Le Tavernier has in A Coruña, which will continue operating as it has until now.The origins of Le Tavernier lie in the life story of a sailor who, after travelling around the world for years, settled in A Coruña. In the Galician capital he opened a venue where he served liqueurs and drinks from every continent.Antón Sáez, the company’s manager, reveals that “in Madrid the concept will be similar, but adapted to its audience. We will also have a kitchen offering snacks and bites from all over the world. As it is an open‑air rooftop, we want it to operate throughout the day, so we are planning to organise brunch service.”The Desarrolla Obras y Servicios team has brought to life a project described as an “oasis in the heart of Madrid”. Construction was completed at the beginning of April, allowing the owners to open the venue in May, just as planned.Le Tavernier’s latest dream is now a reality.Discover our work at www.desarrolla.esVisit us at our Madrid headquarters.
