The University of Vigo has awarded Desarrolla Obras y Servicios the contract for the expansion of the Estación de Ciencias Marinas de Toralla (ECIMAT), located on the Campus As Lagoas–Marcosende. The project includes the construction of new infrastructure for mesocosm research, with storage rooms that will increase the center’s scientific capacity.
THE UNIVERSITY OF VIGO AWARDS DESARROLLA THE CONTRACT FOR THE EXPANSION WORKS OF THE TORALLA MARINE SCIENCE STATION (ECIMAT), LOCATED ON THE AS LAGOAS – MARCOSENDE CAMPUS
The work will consist of building the infrastructure and facilities for experimentation in mesocosms, comprising several research storage rooms at the ECIMAT.The building will be constructed, according to the design by the studio Aa_Arealonga Arquitectura, with a metal structure and an exterior enclosure of exposed concrete block. The roof will be a single-pitch design with aluminum-finished sandwich panels, beneath which part of the installations serving the rooms will be housed.
